Are they doing this to fill a field? I agree with your point, old claimers should be in against young nw types.

For the discount player, Casino Royale gives you a lot of play for your dollar. Nothing fancy, but an energetic customer base that makes the atmosphere fun.

Good luck to both teams, should be fun.

Even though I'm a Sox fan I admit I'm wearing a Cub shirt watching on this Cruise ship, representing Chicago.

Thursday, September 08, 2016 - from the Control The Moment Stable

Philadelphia, PA --- It is with sadness that the owners of Control The Moment must announce that he has suffered a career ending injury, which has forced him to prematurely retire from racing.

We will always have his remarkable racing career to look back upon, winning eight of nine starts as a 2-year-old, including the Metro, and O’Brien Award as the top 2-year-old in Canada. His 3-year-old season was highlighted by his victories in the Meadowlands Pace and the Cane Pace.

Control The Moment won 12 of his 18 career starts and $1,085,220. He took his lifetime mark of 1:48.2 in winning the Meadowlands Pace.

Fortunately, his injury will have no impact on his ability to breed, and we look forward to what we hope will be a long and successful stallion career. It has not yet been determined where Control The Moment will stand stud. An announcement will be forthcoming as soon as arrangements are finalized.

Agree, although I don't blame the team. The media already has them winning the WS without even playing a game.

What kind of odds can I get that the Cub don't even make the playoffs? I'll book that action if there are any takers, let me know.

I love it that George Teague does not care even one little bit that people want to see a top drive on his horse. That is loyalty! Montrell has done a great job with him. Sure he might have won a few more races with driving god Miller but George does not care. And George has made millions using his son so why should he care?

Agree - Montrell has been fine although it would be cool to see one of the top guys drive him once

Friday was real good.
Saturday was real bad.
Once M1 finished Saturday we headed to Yonkers to get unstuck. Didn't work.  hammerhead1

Mr. Gural personally greeted our group and was very friendly as he lobbied for our votes for the proposed casino. Once he learned none of us were NJ residents he promptly left.

Miracles do happen: Yeah Baby & I cashed the pk5 and pk4 on Friday night (both IRS) despite having Jug & Pezz within arms reach.

Public service announcement: As the storm approached Saturday we were told to seek refugees. WTF  shootme

General Harness Racing Discussion / Re: Hawthorne Harness Paradise
« on: August 08, 2016, 11:26:44 AM »
One of my co-workers is from Belize and was at this "cultural festival" until about 10 minutes before the gun shots. He left when he saw things getting out of hand, but his brother stayed. Here's what happened:

The young Belizeans (teens and young adults) were partying pretty good (lots of weed) while enjoying a native rapper perform on stage. The band set to play next (headliner) was supposed to go on at 8pm, but this rapper refused to leave the stage. He just kept rapping. That's when the trouble began. Once shots were fired people began jumping the fence onto the track to flee the scene.

This is not so much about Hawthorne and the neighborhood but instead management making a poor decision to allow this festival to take place on track property. There was private security, but I'm told the rent-a-cops were "participating" rather than enforcing local drug laws.
