Jerry was a good guy. He was on the Chicago circuit his whole life. His wife usually was usually at his side helping.  His dad Henry ,Also was a permanent fixture on the Chicago scene.
His brother Robert was my blacksmith at Aurora back in the 70s.....   My deepest sympathy to the family and his wife..  redrose

Sorry to hear that. I raced with Jerry for many years and he was always very nice to me, even if I beat him. He was a class act. RIP redrose

Other than ITS outing photos, I own two win photos. One of Falcon Seelster. The other is from an obscure mare named Sunandar Ack who was trained and driven by Mr Grevengoed. I absolutely loved this hard-trying older mare. She paid for a semester of college for me.

RIP Mr Grevengoed  redrose

I found this newspaper clipping in the envelope with the photo above. From March 31, 1988. I bet some of you old timers recognize some of these names. Pope? Hugh Jass? Mags? Just Saying?

I remember alot of them but I think your race I had the exacta with Hot Fudge Sunday 2nd at like 25-1 .

I can't remember 10 minutes ago but a good score is hard to forget  rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1

I really think Hambo had a 4-5 length lead with Gutsie Osbourn and jumped it off at the last turn.

Rock Creek was a real monster for Rick Prevost; Nothing at QCD could trot with him so they made him ship to Chitown to race even tho he was stabled at QCD. I owned Bourbon St. Katie & Isaacs Express at one time, and my brother owned Tony's Hawk.(named after his son Tony)

I don't think I had bought Isaacs Express yet when that was printed... I don't remember Brooks ever driving for me.

I'd be lying if I told you I remember the exact details of this particular race, but for some reason I think Hambo tried to quarter-move as the big chalk and got hung or just tired. You may be right though.

In this race wasn't Social First owned by Frank Calabrese?
