LVGD's Favorite Athelete Joins NBC Derby Coverage

Johnny Weir!  He and Tara Lipinski will be comment on the Derby fashion scene.   I'm not going this year in case anyone wants to borrow my seersucker suit.  (size 56)  I know everyone pretends to be interested in the horses, but hell, the fashion scene and people watching is what it is all about.  It is very interesting to see some gal, late in the day, trying to walk in her 6 inch heels while bombed out of her mind.  Any guy left standing has to assist at least 2 ladies out of the place.

I loved Johnny Wierd and Tara on the Olympics- commenting on something they truly know. But this is a bad joke. Do they even know what direction the horses run? Fashion commentators? Just what horse racing coverage needs n 2014.

Strikes a nerve fearless leader. Just had to turn down the job on the Jug week radio broadcasts due to schedule conflicts.

Boycotting the Derby this year. Bad treatment of Turcotte and some owners, raised takeout, general anti-fan and horseman attitude. They clearly do not need my $100 or so in handle.

Lexington's NBC affiliate has begun their derby coverage this morning. They will be featuring racing all day up to the actual Kentucky Derby.
Should you really want to hear a group of pre-thirty amateurs trying to fill a nine hour broadcast schedule while knowing absolutely nothing about horses, horse racing, or astute wagering it would be hilarious.

Actually years ago ESPN did that. They had Suzie Kolber doing that show with another gorgeous girl. They would pick out a celebrity and ask them who they liked.
