The Quillen always seems to have a problem attracting horses, but I believe this is the first year they didn

Must be nice to have a horse who can just show up and be guaranteed almost $11K

You'll never see 9/5 on Cheddar and he will be heavily favored.

1 - 3/5
2 - 9/5
3 - 15/1
4 - 6/1
5 - 15/1

With no Quillen elimination needed, three of the starters in that race are slated to go in the 50K open at Pocono on Saturday.

Pretty good if I say so myself.  ;D

Really hoping both Cheddar and Foiled make it to Balmoral in November

This is the sort of race we need to get the big bettors back on the harness racing bandwagon:

$3.00 win price on Cheddar
$1 exacta--$1.70
$1 tri--$7.50
$1 super--$14.90
.10 super--$1.49

Short fields in big stakes seem to be the trend. The slot states , required to gbe the money away often go the route of the big stakes. As a fan , I would rather see cheaper series with a nice Final purse for local horses and horsemen. Bettors have a chance to follow particular horses over a few weeks. Instead out of staters come in and grab the cash and the fans essentially get a non betting race.
