Googoo Gaagaa Again
« on: June 01, 2012, 05:25:27 PM »
The amazing Cams Rocket trotter Googoo Gaagaa beat nw18 handily at Harrahs today. The 1-5 favorite drifted out of the gate sixth and Corey Callahan raced him in an unhurried fashion throughout. He came third over up the back and didn't swing wide until the stretch, when he trotted by the rest with ease.. The mile went in 53.4. He paid $2.60.

That was one cool, calm and collected drive behind a 1-5 pacing bred trotter.

Did not see that race, but I think Callahan is underrated. He reminds me a lot of another underrated guy that can drive one, Eric Goodell.  Dan Dube is another I like.

These guys are drivers who usually pay more when they win than the top drivers pay.

Ive been singing CCs praise awhile. Lots of talent and does things the right way.
One of the biggest things he has going for himself is hes such a nice guy people love using him on thier horses.
Hes driving Loose Deuce tomorrow in a 150,000$ final. She was a very modest purchase and its exciting to see her do so well. But her trainer is having a good year she jsut won a 96,000 PA sire stakes race this evening.

CC took the blame for googoos one career loss earlier this year. Said the bike was too small. Thats how CC is a class guy all the way.
The horse is a freak. Too bad he is not Hambo eligible.
But he is for some big series and races. He really is better at the big M then Chester anyway. Will be interesting to see him at Yonkers.
He set the half mile world record last year at ocean downs.
Impressive horse to see in person. Best ive ever seen in person.

Yes you have been singing his praises for quite some time. It took me a while to come around, but I love betting him now.

He is going to give you a good honest run for your money.

Loose deuce tomorrow night is a 12-1 morning line.
She does have speed.
Top 3 would be a real accomplishment. But it is possible.

That horse will take some action from here in Maryland and we will be rooting her and CC on. There is probabaly some value to betting her.
Not bad for a horse who was racing for 1600 here at Rosecroft a month ago.

3 Wide put me on this guy awhile back and I have been using him for a few years on the Harrington/Dover circuit with decent results. You used to be able to get a good price on him but that's not the case as much now, although he does pay well when racing on the Meadowlands/Chester or Philly circuit. Seems like a nice guy as well, and he's a hockey fan so that is great with me!

After graduating from Kentucky Callahan worked as an IT recruiter for several years. That's not exactly a typical stepping stone into the business of driving standardbreds.

Re : CC driving Googoo gaagaa

He is mainly just a passenger. So far.
Not much the driver has had to do yet.

I really am looking forward to the horse being challenged.

He played hockey at Kentucky.

How many drivers or trainers have college degrees?
I always wondered. Its not alot.

Hes a super nice guy. I hope he drives goo in the SS at RCR this fall.
I remember when he was a P driver here.
Whenever I see him at the Ocean or chester he always says hi and calls me by my name.
Really not many do that either.

Hey I've known Donnie Irvine for 40 years and he must think my name is "asshole". Of course Donnie is not even completely high school educated.

Googoo Gaagaa is eligible to the Yonkers Trot and the Matron. He's not staked to the Goodtimes, Simcoe, Tompkins, Reynolds or BC. The buy in for the Breeders Crown is $62,500.

Breeders Crown I am sure can find a sponsor. If hes still going good then.

If possible hed be supplemented into the Hambo.
