I have to disagree with you on this one. His list of violations on the track is endless , and  while I am all for 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances, his actions off the court were always the icing on the cake as far as Im concerned. No second chances there .My guess is that Mass will give him the green light. Why not ?--they already have. But thats as far as its going to go. No other state has interest and thats why he's applying there to drive with that with that highly talented driving colony. It falls into the "who cares" category. And its really tiresome---9 years off the field. Gambling and felons really dont mix too well

The Case decision will be announced at the next meeting of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, on Monday, July 2 at 1 pm.

Commissioner Gayle Cameron, a former deputy superintendant with the NJ state police, conducted last week's hearing. At one point Case's lawyer, Jeffrey Pocaro, produced a signed contract between Walter and Jeff Gural. Ms Cameron's familiarity with NJ politics amd The Meadowlands may be a plus for Case.

At another point Pocaro read a letter from Herve, urging the commission to license Case.

Cameron will make a recommendation to the other four members of the board and they will probably go along with her decision.

She didn't tip her hand at the hearing but she does have a reputation for being fair. I think he'll get a provisional license.

As I have said before, he's one of the best to ever hold a set of lines. But, if he has another meltdown it will big an enormous black eye on the entire industry. (which is already on life-support)

He will get the chance again,if some of you remember the Ben Webster, Bob Shuttleworth life bans, they applied in Deleware back in the  60s , 70s and where given a chance, and we see they finally got back into other jurisdictions

I think Walter will ne licensed and still be far better than many drivers half his age. I always thought he was an asshole as a person (most likely from his addictions), but the best of the best on the track. He will be fine and I doubt he will do anything wrong again.

You either haven't seen much or don't have a memory.  Case dominates Zeke Parker at YR, dominates Aaron Merriman at Nfld.  But the one time he went head to head with Luc Ouellette for the year, Luc beats Case for the crown at YR.

There was Lachance, Carmine, Herve... just at YR/RR.  Then Campbell, O'donnel, Sears... just at M1.  Walter, he fits somewhere around number 10, IMO.

And just the nastiest demeanor I've ever had the non-pleasure of meeting.  Yuck!!!!!!!!

All one needs to do is dig up some M1 stats from the early to mid-1980s and you'll get a picture of where he fits in.

 Personally, I think Dolfan is being generous with "the number 10".
