Ryder Steck Passes Away
« on: August 07, 2014, 07:31:45 PM »
Ryder Steck, the 18 year-old son of trainer-driver Ronnie Steck passed away recently following a single car accident that occurred on July 27th.

I did not know Ryder and do not know the Steck family, but we offer our deepest condolences to the family. What particularly touched my heart is that his organs were donated and his mother posted a heart-wrenching announcement praying for the doctor who removed his heart to make it a successful surgery, and that she dearly hopes she can hug the recipient of her son's heart in a year so she can feel his heartbeat again.

Another thing that touched me is that his cousin, a US marine, has been given emergency leave to be able to come home and serve as a pallbearer for the funeral. The two cousins were like brothers, and what a fitting tribute to be laid to rest by a US marine!

Here is the full obituary.

I did not know Ryder, but I do know Ron. He is one of the classiest and good people anyone could hope to know. He trains horses for my accountant and in the day when I needed a Billings horse, all it took was a phone call. Very sad about another chapter of "when bad things happen to good people."

Boss, prayers to him and his family. My friend's daughter had two hearts that were placed in her from different people. Since then, I donated my organs too. If I can help someone when I'm gone I would want to do it.  It's the only "right" thing for me to do.

So sad whenever a young person passes.  May he RIP .  May our Lord help his family cope with this.

This tragedy has touch so many people.   Their school, community , racing friends and countless others have prayed and offered their hearts and hands to support and comfort the family.  My heart aches for Ron and Kila.  I cannot imagine losing a child.  Ron and Kila have been remarkable.   God continue to lift up  them and Ryder's 2 brothers  and give them strength to carry on.
