Northsiders are not hot dog experts.  Gene and Jude's is ok, but not worth going out of your way to get. Same with Super Dawg.   birdienana

Sorry but they have the #1 Dog In America !  And Rachel Ray knows her wieners !  birdienana birdienana

Noboby knows Gene and Judes like I do laddies. Nobody!  dorkusinterruptus

I beg to differ with you laddie ! Been going there since I could ride my bike there and I think I'm a few

months older than you. Used to go to the batting cages on 1st ave. the ride down to Gene and Judes for

a dog and a tamale and finished it off with a lime blizzard at Cock Robin. At one time the only drink they

had available was a orange something drink, I think the name was like nedlog or something weird.

I don't exactly recognize Rachel Ray as any kind of culinary expert.  When it comes to dogs, she knows zilch.  I'm shocked that you would put any stock in the opinions of a New Yorker.  She most likely thinks New York pizza is better than Chicago pizza too!.   Your opinion is tainted by your childhood memories.  My opinion is far more objective!!

I'm not going to try to top you since you are a LOT older than me.

My first trip to G&J was probably my junior year in high school in the early 80's. My buddy Pete's mom worked there on weekday's during lunch hours. We would sneak out of school for lunch (closed campus) and head to G&J where Mrs. J had a bag of dogs waiting for us. The auto shop teacher used to let us out through the back door as long as we brought him back a couple dogs. We learned at an early age that greasing the right person could get you a thing or two. The Chicago way of life.

Hey Skipper, I tried to text this to you yesterday but my phone wouldn't cooperate so here it is. By the way, the place looks wayyyyy too clean and new. New counter, tile floor, and all the stainless is shiny and new.
