Muscles Yankee horses

I was told by someone that horses out of Muscles Yankee tend to get better with age. Does anyone have any input on this or some webpage with statistics that may back this up. Looking at buying a Muscles Yankee mare and was wondering if there was room for improvement. Thanks  for any info.

I don't know the stats, but wouldn't be surprised if Elgin does... he reads everything. I'm too lazy. 

If you're thinking of racing an aged trotting mare in IL you'll have to race you'll have to race against the boys every start. (I know I did) because Doc writes all the races and doesn't like trotters, so he doesn't write many trots and refuses to write a mare trot. My mare had to race in the open several starts against some monsters. Thank goodness she'd still get a few checks until I could drop her back down to a conditioned race. But if she won (which she often did) they'd move me right back to the open, which I couldn't win.

I think many trotters get better with age. Of course I don't pay a lot of attention to any certain sires.

Indy same way.  CJ goes against the boys every week.  usually 3, once in a great while 4 fillies.  If you don't draw inside you gotta have a tuff filly to beat the boys.  CJ has only missed one check  this year but has no wins.

When filly/mare was at the top of her game, there were a bunch of good aged trotting mares racing at Blmpk. Roger Welch had Miss Onree, and he got along pretty well with Doc. He ask Doc about writing a filly&mare open and Doc threw a fit. So every week the best mares had to enter the open with the boys, and they'd take the 1st 10 horses by race date and 2 AE's. The whole situation just sucked.

It's a shame what we have for race secretaries at some places.  not enough seasoned horsemen who retire want that thankless job.  can't blame them.
