A couple years ago Chip won the Jerry Kaltenbach Award for amassing the most money as a driver in the Ohio Sire Stakes.............anyone who has ever heard Chip (even his son, Danny) speak in public, you know it is not his forte..............Chip meekly comes to the podium to accept the award.........and he says........."everyone always takes this time to thank the trainers for putting them up on their horses, their owners for supporting their drives, but this time I'd like to thank one person.....ME!  It was all me!"............And as he pointed his thumbs back at himself the place FELL APART!  rflmao1 rflmao1  It was bar none the funniest acceptance speech I've ever heard at an OHHA banquet and will NEVER forget it.

Of course he then gave a few gracious words but I don't think anyone heard, we were all still rolling.  ;D ;D

I have to say I have always enjoyed interviewing Chip- so gracious and actually pretty well spoken. I hope to see him in the winners circle at ScD in September, since they have given me the mic for that event.

Congrats to Chip, I used to cash often when he would ship in every year for the Hawthorne winter meet.

I'm a little shocked he only has 5000 because his udrs was always very good.
