Bad accident at Rosecroft
« on: May 22, 2012, 08:15:28 PM »
Say a prayer for the Rosecroft drivers, there was a BAD pileup there tonight. Happened in the fifth race and it was declared a no-contest. Here's a release from Standardbred Canada.

An accident involving most of the fifth race field occurred at Rosecroft Raceway on Tuesday night sending at least three drivers to hospital.

The accident occurred as the field approached the three-quarters mark when the leading Pinderonabender (William Carter) broke stride and fell causing a multi-horse pile up, involving Trophy Hunter (Donnie Russell), Go Easy On Me (Charles Perry Jr.), Boccio (Justin Hite), Brighton Bay One (George Polk Jr.), Great Mystery (Justin Brenneman), and So Reserved (Justin Vincent). Only Sharpest Edge (Kim Vincent) and Brave Hearted (Christopher Offutt) completed the race, which was declared a No Contest.

Early reports indicate two drivers were transported to hospital via helicopter and another was taken by ambulance. The injured drivers include Carter, Hite and Russell.

Hopefully everyone is ok. Thoughts and prayers headed their way.

Here is a news story on it.

Regarding Justin I talked to him yesterday on the phone. He doesnt do FB lol

Hes in good spirits and understands the chances they take every race.
He has a shattered heel and broken bone on top of his foot.
They really couldnt get a read on his ankle because of the swelling. He is going to an orthropedic specilist in a few days to see what needs to be done. He says its pretty gruesome.
Could definately use some more thoughts and prayers.
