That's why he went to Philly, he wanted the $$$$$$$$$$ instead of giving the home team a break.!

He offered the home team a serious break, then signed in Philly when they did not meet his breaking price. Plus they fired his buddy Charlie Manuel, so he left.

then several times in the future he would have had the opportunity to be traded to the Indians but didn't want to come back.

actually the Tribe's offer didn't suck. It was the players union that kept telling him to go for the money so the union would look strong. If it wasn't for the union he probably would have signed.
