Left the house an hour ago to take my son ton Arlington for the fireworks. They just began and I just realized that I caught the M1 LP4 for .50

Checked in to watch Maywood a few times - winners from Dale Hiteman & Lavern Hostetler. It's like 1989 all over again.

I have to give Maywood credit though - I love that they open the gate early but only time 1 mile. Good for racing (helps the outside posts) and good for handicapping (eliminates having to figure out those strange 1 1/16 mile times)

Just got back from Arlington. They have a really nice fireworks event there.  Huge crowd!

My 3yo couldn't handle the noise, so we left halfway into it.

I actually had no interest playing the M1 LP4, but with 5 mtp, I capped it as quickly as I could and dumped $90 into it.  Threw out some good ones in leg 1 and added Pierce at the last moment.  The others were tough, but I loved Dnieper last week and still missed the gimmick.  Joe Martin helped the payout the leg 3.  I had 3,4,7 in the last leg and I was shocked to see what it paid after the fact.  I would hoping for $1k for a half buck.  Didn't expect the mandatory withholding.

The family is asleep.  Time for a celebratory drink!
