What The Marching Food Stamp Army Looks Like

October 16, 2013 by Bob Livingston
Back in April, I wrote about The Silent Army. This is the army of almost 50 million (now) people who depend upon the government for their food.
In that article I wrote:
How far do you have to stretch your imagination to think of these 47 million people as a “food stamp army?” They certainly will become an army of terror, stealing and pillaging for food within just a few days after their food stamps are stopped for one reason or another.
You no longer have to stretch your imagination at all. It was on full display last weekend when the computer system that runs the Electronic Benefits Transfer system crashed in 17 States.

The EBT system — the new food stamp program — is essentially a pre-paid debit card system in which government food benefits are transferred to a card on a regular basis. When groceries are purchased, the amount of the purchase is deducted from the card and the card cannot be used again until a new balance is restored.
When EBT card holders realized the system was broken and could no longer read their cards, they became angry. Some of them threatened to riot. Some stores — particularly a couple of Louisiana Wal-Mart stores — decided to honor the cards as if they had full balances. EBT holders rewarded them by ransacking the stores — essentially stealing all the food they could carry. Store managers told news outlets it was like a tornado went through the stores.
When the system came back online and people realized they could no longer loot the stores without consequence, they left full shopping carts sitting in stores aisles and walked away. According to reports, one woman ran up a bill of $700 even though her card had a balance of just 49 cents.
Note from the Editor: Hyperinflation is becoming more visible every day—just notice the next time you shop for groceries. All signs say America’s economic recovery is expected to take a nose dive and before it gets any worse you should read The Uncensored Survivalist. This book contains sensible advice on how to avoid total financial devastation and how to survive on your own if necessary. Click here for your free copy.
What I told you in April I reiterate now. People in America who are getting free food stamps consider it a right rather than a privilege. This attitude will be very bad when the food stamp system fails, as it surely will when the worthless paper money system collapses as it did in the Weimar Republic in 1923.
With economic depression comes government oppression. Economic panics, famine and social breakdown come about as a result of depreciation and devaluation of a paper currency. There is a direct connection that few people get. It’s happening now!
The U.S. Department of Agriculture began sending out notices last Friday (before the glitch) to States to “hold their November issuance files and delay transmission to State electronic benefits transfer (EBT) vendors until further notice.” If this occurs, it will get ugly very quickly.

Was a  riot at my local 7-11.

It makes me laugh. They use the cards for 50 dollars worth of fruit punch and doritos at 7-11.

Then they pull out the cash for the lottery tickets.

This was a 1 day thing.

What happens when its a week or a month?

You cant sustain this govt entitlement spending forever.
They will run out of money soon enough and then the fun begins.

The REAL bad boy is the Remington 870 12ga with a short riot barrel, loaded in 3 stages.

1. Bird shot (blinding)
2. 00 buckshot (lethal)
3. A stack of dimes in a magnum shell. (comes out all tumbly-twirly and becomes a meat grinder)

Hey... YOU chose to kick the door in, not me. idunno

PS  I'd hate to use #3. It's hard on the inside of the barrel and my wife hates a mess in the house.
