This group topped the charts in the late 60s with "Bend Me Shape Me," remember? Had the opportunity to work with them back in the day....well leader Gary Loizzo and his family still reside in the south suburbs and Gary posted this on his Facebook page....its self explanatory and I felt might be worth posting here for those that would find it of interest as I did.
Dear Family and Friends: I'm not much of a poster here on facebook but
As many of you know Doug Loizzo, my son, has been battling Large Granular Leukemia (LGL) for the past five years. This month he will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant, which will hopefully rid his body of this disease. With this type of transplant comes many side effects. Doug will be hospitalized for several weeks undergoing severe chemotherapy and radiation to destroy the leukemic cells in his body before undergoing the transplant. Following the transplant, he will be quarantined in his home for a period of 100 days to help avoid any infection. During this time, he will not be able to work and the medical bills will continue to add up. With a successful transplant, the long term prognosis is very positive and we are confident that this is just another step in Doug’s road to a full recovery. In hopes of raising money to help offset the costs of this procedure “Team Fresh” will be selling purple inspirational bracelets (LIVEFRESH) and are requesting a donation of $10 each. “Team Fresh” is greatly appreciative for any donation you are willing to give. Checks can be made payable to Team Fresh Support Group. Thanks so much!
All of the proceeds raised from this will go directly to Doug, Kelly, Gianna and Josette.
He's now on Day 3 of 7 that are filled with different types of chemo, then radiation before the actual transplant occures....and he's doing really well...thanks again for all your prayers and support
