American Jewel Vs Romantic Moment
« on: October 06, 2012, 12:38:42 PM »
Last year it looked like Peelers would wind up being HOY, forget about winning her division. But then things went south for her in the Nadia and her health gave way and Drop The Ball came on. Many thought DTB had a shot at the division if she won the BC, but Monkey won that one and the race was over.

This year it looked like Takter's other filly, American Jewel, was going to dominate, but she's won only two of seven starts since coming back in early August after a one-month break. Jewel won the Simcoe, Lynch, Fan Hanover and Bluegrass.

Her stablemate, Romantic Moment, who won her division of the Garnsey today, while Jewel was second to Economy Terror in hers, also has a win in the Valley Forge--over Jewel. She has more wins and more money than her stablemate. She's won seven of her last nine.

While Jewel has for the most part passed on the NYSS, in favor of the GC, Moment owes quite a chunk of her money and several of her wins to the NYSS program. While Jewel went to Canada and competed in the Simcoe, then raced in the Jugette, Romantic Moment won two legs of the NYSS as well as the final.

If Romantic Moment wins the BC, does she deserve to win divisional honors?
