IL Governor Pat Quinn (Quinnochio) said today that he would not sign the gambling bill that includued slots at the racetracks. Illinois is sooooo screwed... and not just the horsemen.

The guy is in the hip pocket of the current casino owners. They don't want any competition.  He wants to balance the budget on the backs of old people.  Many of them are too feeble to protest.  And, if he ran for re-election , he would win!  We are screwed and tatooed!  It is really sad that so many are brainwashed into thinking that the Dems are for the working man.  When my wife can retire, I'm out of here.  I can't afford to keep paying so much for so little.

Gov. Pat Quinn on Monday dismissed the idea that he would sign into law a major gambling expansion in exchange for a promise from lawmakers that they will pass a follow-up ethics measure when they return to the Capitol in the fall.

The Democratic governor suggested pro-gambling legislators should have included stronger oversight standards in the bill they approved at the end of May and formally sent to his office on June 28. Supporters, Quinn said, should have done it

Pat Quinn has the I.Q. of a turnip. (my apologies to all turnips) When a waitress asks him how he wants his eggs for breakfast, it takes him 'til lunch to decide... EVERYDAY!

Couldn't agree more , I would be interested after horse racing has died in this state, to see who is pulling his strings. You can see it in his eye's he does not have an intelligent thought running through his head. I'm hoping he will just forget about it and not sign it or veto it this way he has no accountability for it later on when it becomes a law.
