Where Are You, Walter Case?

All one needs to do is dig up some M1 stats from the early to mid-1980s and you'll get a picture of where he fits in.

 Personally, I think Dolfan is being generous with "the number 10".

I put him "somewhere around 10" not considering his mile track driving.  It's just very different for allot of guys.  You may recall how inconsistent & just plain bad Campbell was at Yr/RR in the 80's.  I don't think Carmine was anything on the mile track.

I have a friend who also agrees that Case was the best ever but he admits he hadn't started watching harness until the 90's.  Still, he has no explanation for Luc beating Case over a full year.

What many folks don't get is that YR always has a dominating driver - from Carmine to Lachance to Luc, Case, Dube, Bouchard, Bartlett & now Brennan.

I loved Walter.

When he was sane.

He could have been just as great as ambassador as John Campbell.......his personality at times was AMAZING.

My heart broke for him many times......and many times he broke my heart.
