Making plans to go visit a nun, who wrangled our freshman dorm wing when I was ensconced at St. Joseph Academy, for her 90th birthday. Her birthday is Saturday but she prefers we wait until the first week of May as she is booked with family and others. She is in sound mind and decent body but in the blink of an eye.......

We usually visit in October but decided at this stage of the game sooner rather than later is always better. Besides I always loved the campus in the spring.

I've seen his two smiles the dazzling smile of a winner coming off the track and the sad alcoholic sheepish one. I so prefer the first one.

 
I hope he is doing all the right things, meetings the whole ball of wax. He tries so hard but he has never been able to do it by himself.   

I think I and J are very important. I've seen wire wrapped crackers, multiple crackers tied on and of course there was the gorilla glue incident with Josh Sutton.....

For me it was in Laurel, MD home of Freestate Raceway. Pal Jack's Pizza. I was introduced to the best thin crust pizza you have ever tasted. It was walking distance to the place where all those Kroop Boots Stanley, Delvin, Billy and the others all wore were hand made.

I'm partial to all my Indiana transplants, Pete Wrenn, Danny Shetler and of course Mark O'Mara. Excellent horsemen, dedicated and good, smart drivers all.

It was a blast standing at the Pegasus Bar at Hoosier watching the race on the tv with no sound. In that last 1/4 of a mile you wouldn't have been able to hear the call anyway. There was a lot of noise and I must say I was whooping it up too, gave me goosebumps.

 Watching Verlin sitting chilly on the outside, biding his time, there wasn't a single soul in Indiana who for one second thought Herbie was SOL. We knew Verlin was prepared and Herbie has proven in the past he can take a parked out trip. I was luvin' Commander Crowe getting so nervous about Herbie sitting and biding his time that he was half in half out trying to decide what to do......

Caught the interview on a tv with sound. Verlin was looking a teeny bit shellshocked. 

Here's a couple of ideas.....Dot Morgan always has an auction at The Jug to benefit her New Vocations, of course that is donated items. The person who does that auction might be a step in finding the right company to set up maybe an online auction. What about making arrangements with The Jug and or The Red Mile to set up a booth like Bow River does? ... or the at the yearling sales in Lexington and Harrisburg. The places where the people with money make impulse purchases.
