We did however manage to reach and agreement that allowed for Kawartha Downs Raceway to be saved. It was set to close Saturday March 30 but managed to reach a deal with the province late Friday night. They had a record turnout Saturday night and it was filleed to capacity. A huge cheer was heard as they announced that an agreement had been reached.

I love Mohawk. Had my first date there, my husband proposed to me there. LOL  lilcheerleader

It is a gorgeous track but you are still up close and personal at the rail. Mohawk is a classy track but still maintains the smaller track intimacy. Something Woodbine lacks. Nothing beats a warm summer Saturday night, a burger from the BBQ pit sitting at the picnic table at the rail watching the races. sigh....Hurry up May!!!
