Wrote this in another post I think Lou wins but Needy is going to really make him run they
might even set another record. Thinking out loud is the only other horse I think that can challenge the top 2. Thinking out loud is the biggest threat outside of Lou and Needy.

I think Maven is the best filly trotter I've seen in a while. Bet on her in this crop. Watched the race at the Meadows when she took down CMO and Schnitker was pushing CMO while Gingras had Maven shut down and she was still pulling away. She did the same last week in her elimination heat. She is a remarkably powerful filly she just has to mind her manners which was her problem last year but if she's flat I don't think there's any filly in this group including CMO that could touch her even with Tetrick at the reins.

Thanks for the info Elgin. I kinda figured as much but was hoping beyond hope that they would match up at least 6 times with all the upcoming stakes. I expect the Jamiesons to enjoy destroying the OSS field for half the year and really be ready to race when they face Lou. I'm still excited, sounds like we will get the matchup at least 2 more times other than the final so, I will savor those races which I expect will break a couple track records maybe even a world record and become classics.

I am so excited about the Lou and Needy matchup not only in the Cup Final but throughout the year. It reminds me of Ferdinand and Alysheba in the late 80's. It is SO rare that great horses actually have rivals that are their equal especially in harness racing. I just hope their owner's don't begin to try and avoid one another to wait for the Breeder's Crown. Though I believe that Lou will win thumbsup I think Needy is the only one that can challenge him or beat him right now.
