My Son & I ride out on our cruisers at daylight to bike through North Carolina and ride The Tail of the Dragon. Gonna ride back north on the Blueridge Parkway through The Smokies. Gotta get warmed up for the 2016 Little Brown Jug. Hope to see some of you there!

On January 9, 2015 I laid down to take a nap. Some days later I came to in ICU in a local trauma center, unable to swallow, talk, use my arms or legs, and hooked to some very fancy machines. I remembered my name and nothing else... even what year it was.
Turns out I had a blood clot that wedged in my portal vein and stopped blood flow and my heart kept pumping until my esophageal veins burst and I bled-out. My Bride was told the mortality rate is 100% so make the arrangements. As you might guess, I didn't die. (so much for 100%)
Long rehab of relearning to do mundane things.(over 5 months to be able to sign my name again, and it looked like a 4 yr old) Screening for organ transplant at Barnes Hospital-St Louis, which hasn't proven necessary yet. Had to put 50 lbs back on, to remain eligible for surgery.
I'm back riding my motorcycle on long cruises thru several states and enjoying life again. Still having lost abilities coming slowly back, and watching my nephew's stable killing them in the big stakes races, Especially Caprice Hill & Racing Hill. Planning to be at the Jugette & The Jug in a couple weeks, first live racing for me in a long while. Hope to see some of my ITS Homeys there! Good to be back, Y'all.

We had a bucking-bull get loose during the rodeo at our fair. He got clear outside the pens. I don't trust dem sour rascals!

This morning they moved me into an advanced therapy program with a more concentrated regimen for the next 8 weeks. Maybe I won't have to wait until October to be back to abnormal. Fingers crossed.
And here I thought you turned into a liberal on us...

When I awoke from surgery my Bride said it looked like a bobcat and a grizzly bear had been fighting for my shoulder. I asked who won? She replied, "You were third."

General Harness Racing Discussion / DON'T PAY THE RANSOM, I'VE ESCAPED

On January 3rd I finished an ugly 2nd in a wrestling match with a gas-powered snow blower. 2 1/2 hours of surgery later they completed fishing out 2 severed tendons and reattached them to some anchor bolts, took a broken collar bone out and jury-rigged it back together before reinstalling, removed the bursa sac and threw it away. Then they reattached a severed bicep and screwed it down in a different area with a plate and anchor screw.
I had plans to do a lot of projects over the 6 month hiatus... none of which happened. Brushing teeth and wiping butt took all the time. Combination of pain and pain meds shut my sense of taste off... hence, I'm down to 133 lbs. Trying to 'hunt & peck' on the laptop left-handed proved fruitless, so I check into ITS on occasion without posting.
Therapy is going great, but they told me it would be October before things got closer to normal. Mjss you guys and I'll be checking in now that I can use my arm.

He'd race like a monster, then one week later he couldn't out-run a fat man in an overcoat. Or he might decide to throw in a nasty break for no reason... or sulk at half speed for an entire mile. Just a trainer's nightmare.
He had a solid night, the drive on a listless looking Wake up Peter was perfect.
