Fine, Suspension For Coleman
Trainer Casie Coleman has received a $5,000 fine and two-month suspension for the positive test on pacing horse Reibercrombie reported earlier this month.
Reibercrombie tested positive for Class III drug Ephedrine, a common ingredient in decongestants. The suspension runs from March 20 to May 3.

Andrew Harris is the listed trainer for Keepers Destiny, Western Silk and P Note Blue Chip in the Matchmaker, as well as Reibercrombie and Rock To Glory in the Levy.

Reibercrombie will be scratched as the horse is on the suspended list in Ontario. Race office likely were unaware when he was entered would be my guess.

If you think she wasn't using when she first went East than I have a bridge you can buy cheap. I knew her when she raced at Fraser Downs and than when she was at Northlands Park. She worked for Travis Umphrey (real good guy) and Bill Davis, but she wasn't that smart ever. Regardless of what story she will tell the public, she tried to put out a Fire (she had heated up some foot paint) with a bottle of alcohol that eventually exploded. She came to Ontario and crushed with everything, jumping claimers all the way up the ladder. Not unlike a certain Mr Pena. She really toned it down after Randy Rankin was shot and killed. Rankin you'll remember was the guy who posted on Harness Driver that was going to expose the top guys who were cheating and using drugs and fixing races. Now she runs a top notch stable with great help and horses that get everything top of the line.... But her start was obviously aided chemically. All you have to do is look at her father Phil. Phil couldn't get a horse to do anything in BC. He was a career .180 trainer on a B circuit. Suddenly after a lifetime of mediocrity he's a +.300 trainer on the toughest circuit in the country. People out west still remember him stealing feed to survive.

Reibercrombie will compete in the George Morton Levy Memorial Series at Yonkers on Saturday night. Owner Steve Calhoun appealed the ruling of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, which honored the horse's suspension in Ontario, and a stay was granted.
Earlier in the week, according to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board director of communications Lee Park, Reibercrombie's scratch came after "the presiding judges at every track in New York have been instructed to honor stewards' list prohibitions from any jurisdiction."
Reibercrombie won a division of the second round of the Cam Fella Series March 3 at Woodbine Racetrack, but had the positive for the Class III drug Ephedrine and Phenylpropanolamine after a second-place finish in the Cam Fella opener on Feb. 25. Reibercrombie was suspended 90 days, from March 20 through May 3. Trainer Casie Coleman, who shares ownership of Reibercrombie with Steve Calhoun, was given a 45-day suspension from March 20 through May 3 and a $5,000 fine. She will also have to serve two years probation following the ending of the suspension.

All I have to say is from what I understand, Casie was not within 2500 miles of where the incident occurred when it occurred. Ephedrine? Please. We gave stuff ten times that strong thirty years ago and it was legal.
I really feel badly for trainers today. Hell they are not even allowed to use therapeutic drugs like we used way back when. I'd love to know how many horses were harmed by steroids versus the number whose lives were saved by them. And this is coming from a guy who never milkshaked a horse!

Thing is, why is she down as trainer if she's not actually training them? She was on her cruise but she's been in Florida most of the winter. She's barely in Canada much anymore, and she doesn't sit behind them anymore.
It's bullshit to me that you're suspended and you can race in another jurisdiction. Horse and trainer were both suspended for violating the rules of racing - why should they be able to circumvent those same rules? Now Harris is down as Trainer and they're still getting the same vitamins (wink wink nudge nudge) and now Coleman's NOT an owner? Come on. Absolutle bullshit. Integrity has no place in harness racing apparently.
