We have a friend who retired to Colorado, but still has family in Harrisburg,IL. It was one of the stricken towns. Haven't been able to contact him yet, but I hope his family is well. For those who are struggling through this, my prayers & cares are with you. redrose
google 'tri-state tornado' and read about a real bastard of a tornado that devastated three states in 1925. It stayed on the ground for hundreds of miles, and was 3/4mi to 3mi wide at times. Very uncharacteristic for a tornado. I read an article about it once and it told of a crew of coal miners who came up from their shift to find flat empty land in every direction. Their town, their homes, and their entire families were all gone.
And I bitch about everyday aggrivations. Now they had REAL problems.

so hard to deal with for so many people..saw a couple on the news from Alabama who had just rebuilt recently from a tornado a year ago and now their house is gone again..our prayers go out to all of you.
-
My prayers and Good wishes to all involved. May God bless you !!!

it reminded me of the movie Twister yesterday. Very Scary. redrose redrose

Drove through the first batch Wednesday and the big line passed North of us Friday (we are in Auburn, Alabama), although our 2nd match was postponed due to lightning and a Birmingham school had to cancel due to weather.
-
We saw a little hail and some straight line winds but nothing like the folks in West Liberty (about 50 east of us) or the Hoosiers in henryville and Marysville, IN. They say that mountains are an 'eraser" for tornados.
West Liberty is in the "mountains".
These things are NOT fun. Have to replace two cracked panes of glass but aside from that---no problems.

I can't tell you what a bad few days I've had, root canal Fri., sliced my toe almost off Monday morning, my
refrigerator went out sunday night and ruined a lot of food then I buy a new one and have to modify my
kitchen cabinets to fit it in, got another chip/crack in my windshield and yet after see this and hearing the
stories especially of that little baby from Kentucky I wanna beat my own ass for feeling sorry for myself.
I pray for these people and for all the lives lost in these disasters and thank the Lord that my family is
safe. redrose redrose redrose
