FIrst off, back is killing me and I can't fire up some herbal medication because I need to drive to California to buy lottery tickets for our lottery team at work.
Then this afternoon I have a dentist appointment for what is supposed to be routine cleaning. Somehow I know this means more dental appointments to fix anything that is wrong.
Finally, our lying p.o.s. President Obama is coming to Las Vegas today to totally f**k up our traffic, and yes, he will be near my beautiful dentist's office to make a speech 30 minutes after my scheduled cleaning. This means I will have to find a back way to and from the dentist office due to street closings. WTF!!!!!

Kinda funny that he's in Vegas pitching a jobs bill, when at the start of his reign he twice told high-earners to keep their ass out of Vegas.

I'm sure Mr. Obama has change in mind for us, but why must I change my streets just because he's here? Keep in mind that I also complained loudly when George W. was in town. Took me an hour and a half to get home from work...usually ten minute drive.

I got stuck at a RR crossing for an hour once when Veep Al Gore was coming to town. Sat there about 40 minutes, then his motorcade flys by at 80mph. They made us set there for another 20 minutes after. I asked an officer in SWAT gear how much longer he thought it would be, and he asked me if I wanted to go to jail immediately. I quietly went back to my car.

At least Slick Willie had the decency to come to Las Vegas late at night. How many of us ever thought we'd see the day when we wished Slick Willie was still in office???
The only president Ryan and I have seen in person was George H.W. Bush, and that was here in Las Vegas.
He actually waved to Ryan, and it was a once in a lifetime moment. If Obama waves at me I will flip him the bird.

Slick Willie came here once. When he got ready to leave, Air Force 1 was taxying out to the runway and the pilot got off the tarmac and buried it in the mud. BOY that screwed things up! They had to wait for a back-up plane and the Secret Service was having fits.

I saw Airforce 1 within the past year as it was landing in Cleveland Hopkins Airport and was glad that I wasn't going the way the freeway was blocked off.

Gary, before you sit down in the dentist chair, make sure you have "unchecked" the box on the back of your license that allows the government to redistribute the gold in your fillings.

Just finished 18 holes of golf in Chesterton, IN and now headed to the casino in MI. Beautiful sunny day and 62 out. Only president I saw in person was Jimmy Carter. Who would have thought I'd live to see a president who was worse than him!

Happy to tell you that Mr. Obama had no impact on my travels today. I drove to the California border this morning to buy lottery tickets for our shift at work. Then drove back to Las Vegas, sat around here for 20 minutes, then drove to the dentist's office at 1:10. Obama was supposed to speak very close to her office at 2:30-I figured traffic would be a mess.
Actually got to my dental appointment in less time than normal and as luck would have it, they had a cancellation and got me in early at 1:45. I was xrayed, cleaned like it was a deep cleaning except with no shots, then screened for cavities and oral cancer by my gorgeous dentist, Dr. Tran. Took me an hour and a half to get finished!
She insisted on personally walking me up to the front of the office and gave me a hug heartluv and told me she really looks forward to my visits (I make her entire staff laugh because of my dental-phobia!). I had not been to a dentist for 18 years when I went to see her in December. Now I've been there 6 times since December. ;D At least she got everything cleaned, drilled, and filled, so I don't go back till Feb. 27, 2012. thumbsup
Then went to Arizona for Powerball tickets and drove up to Pamela's house. She said she was making one of my favorite dishes in the crockpot and invited me to stay for dinner, but I left after we got the work done she needed help with.
Total mileage for the day: 238. No problems with anything I was worried about. thumbsup

Well this is my horrible day:
I get to the barn this AM and the water is shut off and a guy is digging with an excavator trying to find a leak. Of course he wouldn't call me beforehand so I could fill all the buckets and fill some extras before the water was shut off.
We were supposed to pick up a big goose neck of hay (because we are nearly out) and the supplier called and said he had a tractor buried in the mud while harvesting corn and couldn't make it.
My Bride took my 3 grandaughters to a holloween costume party at a local veteran's club, and one of the old bats bitched out my oldest grandkid for being to old to be at the party... after she had volunteered to run a ring toss game for the littler kids. My Sweetie told me to go in the bar and have a beer instead of slapping said old bat. While watching my Cards gain a 2-0 lead, I head home to watch the rest of the game while the Bride takes the grandkiddies home, and feed the horses.
As soon as I head to the house my cell rings. Our Lab pup found a skunk at the barn and I had to head to the store for some tomato juice and head back to the shower stall at the barn... couldn't bring him home in either vehicle otherwise.
Finally headed home with a partially stinky dog while listening to the Cards getting their ass beat on the radio. Luckily, I didn't get in a wreck or have a heart attack on the way home.
Things tend to average out, so tomorrow I'll probably win the Lotto, get seduced by a supermodel, or inheirit a future Hambo winner.

I feel you my friend. I really believe it is our own miserable fault though, I mean
if we're not smart enough to move to Vegas where all you do is win and get free
houses with rotundas and beautiful weather 24/7/365 and every thing your little
heart could desire is just bestowed upon you then yes we will suffer.

I miss those days J.S.! Hate to think how many times they shut the water off without telling us back in the old days, either at fairgrounds or Northfield.
