NE -2.5 and 54
My first thoughts were NE in a shootout but now I'm not so sure. First time in years I haven't locked-in on something. idunno
Hey Jug, I need you man. Give me the auto-toss parlay please.
-
Until NE beat BALT, they hadn't beat a winning team all season...and even then, I say that Lee Evans beat BALT for dropping the game winning TD.
NE's defense is still nothing to write home about...and their offense still lacks a deep threat. Brady is now more of a Peyton Manning/ball control type of quarterback...which is great when you are ahead, but that style of offense doesn't work well when you are chasing points.
As for the NYG, their fans are praying that Eli doesn't have one of those "brain fart" kind of days. The Giants are solid on both sides of the ball and they've won their playoff battles by forcing turnovers.
Both QBs are great in the clutch, so I think this will be a close one. My money goes on the Giants...because nobody picks winners like "Madden 12".

The Pats get Sebastian Vollmer, their right tackle, back this week. With the exception of Dan Koppen, the O-line is now intact. Light, Mankins, Waters, Connolly, Vollmer and Solder will all see playing time, with the latter, a converted tight end, serving as an extra blocker on some of the power packages. They

Pats 33
NYG 24
Pats win the all important turnover battle as Brady plays a nearly perfect game and gets his revenge.
What's with all these folks calling the Giants the "hot team" when the Pats have won 10 in a row.
-
Ilike the Pats but more confident on under.
Lets go with Pats 24 Nyg 20
-
The Giants have answer for the NE offense (which was horrible last week).
Too much Brady spells doom for the Giants.........NE 38-20
NE and over parlay for my man TonyB!! ;D

I am with Jug here. Brady had the worst game of the season 2 weeks ago and they still advanced. Will not happen again. The Giants Defense is not that good. 38-24 NE

Pezz, we appear to watching the games from the same set of eyes.

Dolfan, I have said this before, you and I see a lot of the same things when it comes to football. Even if Gronk is 50%, the Giants still have no one who can cover Welker or Hernandez. ( Don't be surprised if 85 makes a big play too) The Pats O-Line is finally healthy. I think they win big. Belicheck 2 weeks to prepare, I take that every time.
-
Gronk means allot to this offense; not only pass-catching - what a target! But also blocking so 50% would hurt them.
I met Pete Metzelaars a couple of years ago when he was an assistant coach with Indy. His size left me absolutely amazed. At 6'7" - same as Gronk - I couldn't even imagine overthrowing him. In person some of these guys are really impressive.

thumbsup He is such a big part of everything they do.
-
Pats 34 Giants 20 That's all I'm saying about it!!!
-
I have not been able to pik either team with confidence. 4pezz2 4pezz2
I feel it goes back and forth all game and the last team with the ball either wins it or blows it.
-
Don't be surprised if 85 makes a big play too
This would be a surprise. There's an article out where Johnson said he still can't understand or grasp the offense & when they go into the hurry up he has to think so much about his assignment that he's a step behind & too slow.
I always felt that he was most overrated but I didn't know he was that stupid too.
Unlikely he'll see too many snaps.
-
I really like the Giants. With Gronkowski not healthy, this will be a major blow for Brady. He is the go to guy in redzone . The defense stops nobody, they made Flacco look like a Pro Bowler. The Giants can pressure the QB , and are as healthy as they have been all year. The Giants are playing there best football right now. The Patriots ,I think that if you look at it,have not played that great lately. I know it is a product of playing in the AFC Least. They clinched early, but I think the Giants really mirror the Pack of last year. They had to play tough games that meant something down the stretch. The Giants have a certain toughness that the Pats don't. I hope that everyone laying money on the Pats don 't bet big! you will be greatly disappointed.

I picked the giants before the playoffs and told gary to bet them. I see dan liked them too... but I think a lot are picking the giants so they can say 'see I told you they would win' instead of picking who they really think will win.
-
Everyone and their Mother is picking the Giants, you know what that means NE is going to win....
I agree.
N and over.
I don't really care who wins as long as my big money square hits, I will be happy.

Anyone who thinks Tom Brady was not rooting for the Giants to get to this game so he could avenge the ONE Blemish on his Legendary Hall Of Fame career....is most likely a Giant Fan.
He was awful against the Ravens and is probably Lucky to be here.....but again....If you think he'll play back to back awful games...your most likely a Giant fan.
Everyone is worried that 'The Gronk' is not healthy, so the Patriots are done....but Wes Welker has caught more passes than ANY Reciever in the ENTIRE League in the past 5 years....If you think he won't be a factor in this game....your most likely a Giant Fan.
The Giants have been talking for 2 weeks like THEY should be a 2 Touchdown Favorite....while the Patriots have been the assumed DOG......
Eli Manning hype has been incredible, the Guy that covers the Giants locally on WFAN has called him a TOP 3 Quarterback......I'd like to ask him this.....
Who did you throw out first out of these 4....Peyton, Brees, Rogers, Brady....and then who did you cut out to get Eli in the Top 3?.........Talk about Ridiculous......
If you think the Giants are winning...than most likely your a Giants Fan.......
PATS win easy and Cover easy..........HYPE doesn't win Big Games.....

I've already picked the Pats 33-24 BUT lets keep in mind that all 3 Super Bowls that Brady won were by exactly 3 points.
The game he lost was by... 3 points.
And the AFC Championship game was won by... 3 points.
I think it's highly likely that the team that wins the turnover battle wins the game & I just think that'll be the Pats.
Everyone and their Mother is picking the Giants, you know what that means NE is going to win....
Same brain, same thought. Mike Greenberg said the same thing Friday & they both went on to pick the Giants.

NE -2.5 and 54
Currently NE -2.5 (-120) and 53.5
I'm going with NE 34-24 (I have 4-4 final in a pool that would pay $48K)

Several people on this board picked Denver to beat Pittsburgh, we were told we didn't know what we were talking about and that we were picking based on our feelings and heart instead of our brain. Some gave reasons that Ben is hurt and one hit could take him out of the game. Sure enough he got hit and then played a lousy second quarter.
Now some of those same people as well as others are saying that Brady won't have a bad game, he has been waiting for this game etc, but if the only reason for picking New England is Tom Brady I would never bet on the game. One awkward fall from a sack or hit and he could be out the rest of the game.
This board has the best harness and horse racing handicappers I have ever seen, and I think in part is that you are all able to separate personal feelings towards a horse and place wagers without emotion. I don't think as many can separate personal feelings when it comes to football and I hope aren't betting on this game when they could make more money with less risk betting on the Meadowlands.
-
I don't like either team.Patriots win easily 34-24.

It is unamerican to not to have a wager on the Super Bowl.

Since I don't have to make a living from gambling, All my bets (there aren't many) have a bit of emotion in them. I think that is called 'entertainment'. If most had to make a living as a gambler they would starve... and I'd starve first.
We're headed to the VFW with a tray of "Deviled Eggs to Die For", and some home made cookies for a big pot-luck and Super Bowl party. Should be a good time. My only bets are on number boards and I don't even know my numpers... too distracting. My pals will tell me if I win.
Enjoy, Y'all!

Real boring, I missed the first quarter but do the Patriots have a receiver that can run more than 10 yards?
Who was the idiot who said NE and over? rflmao1

If you watched the whole game you now understand the difference between a close game & a great game.
Brady & his receivers never recovered after the under thrown pass to Gronk that turned into the game's only turnover.
-
Champions the last two years in football and baseball
Giants had to win their last two games to get in the playoffs
St Louis Cardinals had to win their last two games and Atlanta had to lose to get into the playoffs (or have a single game playoff)
In 2010 Packers needed to win the last two games to get in the playoffs
In 2010 San Fran Giants had to win their last game to avoid a single game playoff.
-

This is true, and it's amazing how so many SINGLE plays can turn a game around, but the game is over if the receiver with some of the best hands in the NFL catches the last ball thrown to him....Collingsworth said it...He probably catches that ball 100 out of 100 Times...WELL...99 out of 100 now.......would hate to be him today, must feel awful....
-
I thought the game was kinda weak at best. More bad plays and mistakes than good plays. No turnover deep in your own end, no long kick returns, no real big sacks - things that swing the momentum on one play.
NE had plenty of chances by they had many dropped passes, Brady's mental mistake for a safety, offside penalty on 3rd and 7 by NE early in 4th qtr, Welker falling just short of the 30 for a 1st down, and two fumbles by NYG that NE couldn't fall on.
My buddy pezz is gonna hate this but you gotta give Eli credit - he has really matured into a good QB. idunno

How about the people who had 2-7 in those pools, especially the Big One's......There is NO Reason to go for 2 points there at the end...4 or 6 makes absolutely no difference....The Clock doesn't run on those plays.....did someone on the Giants Staff have 3-7 in a $50,000 Pool.....Hmmmmm...makes you wonder, lol

Being up by 6 gives you the opportunity to block an extra point and go to OT if NE scores a TD
