On Monday, January 23, two bills were introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives which would lead to the legalization of sports wagering in New Jersey.
According to a report by patch.com, Democrat Frank Pallone Jr. introduced a bill which would make New Jersey exempt from the federal ban on sports wagering. The current ban makes it illegal to wager on sports in every state except Delaware, Montana, Nevada and Oregon.
In addition to Pallone's bill, Republican Frank LoBiondo introduced a bill which would give all states until 2016 to decide whether or not they wanted to make sports wagering legal.
