Title: New harness racing fans.
Post by: AmyHollar on January 17, 2012, 07:13:21 PM
Jeremy brought three folks he works with out to the barn tonight.  All about in their early 60s and had never seen a horse race before.

We didn't spend a long time together but what a hoot they were!  And what a pleasure it is to show folks around the backstretch..........even with gale force winds and falling temps.  :o

Jeremy thanked me, but as a horseman.......and all of you horsemen would agree, I thank Jeremy the most.  bowdown  To get a chance to show the outside world a glimpse of what we do is a pleasure and privilege......especially when they are as sharp and witty as these folks were.

And Bettor.....Race Track Cruiser is ok........a little traumatized.....but he'll get over it......I think the pictures Jeremy took with him prove little damage was done.  :-X

Thanks Pezz, but it was Jeremy's idea to bring them back to the barn.....I was just my normal charming self.  8).............I love any chance for patrons to see what is going on, on the other side of the track.  thumbsup

There may have been an ulterior motive...........seems when I asked Jeremy what I owed him for a little tax preparation help he gave me, he only mentioned something about jog cart rides for hot blondes in the summer........hhhmmmm.........

Nice job, Jeremy. I always host groups from daycare to college to try to promote the sport any chance I get. Aiming for the hot blonde isn't bad move either.

He had the hot blondes back at the barn once but St Calvin wasn't there to give rides...........does he understand he will be called as a witness in my divorce proceedings when he shows up with them again?

I don't think I've ever been so excited.

That part is true for all those reading... but I'm not holding her to it.

They weren't that sharp, the first race they bet, they bet Dan Kennedy.  I tried to talk them out of it.

We do need newcomers in this game whether they be 16 or 60.

Get em' in the winner's circle for a Kodak moment, maybe see if you can get them a ride in the Starting Gate, they'll love it.   Good job.

We need more of this kind of thing if we are going to survive!
