First Lou Pena, and now this! Embarrasing!!

My questions are why didn't Cassie just say in her texts to give the horse his yogurt instead of '' treatment '' and don't do it until it's '' safe''... And why wasn't the yogurt just mixed in with his feed instead of being injected with a syringe? Do you really want to take a chance of being caught with a syringe in a detention barn?
49.1 in the 2nd heat on a 90 degree day? The horse could have went in 48 if Miller wanted to..

You try and have big races in the middle of Hicksville this is what you get. It doesn't surprise me at all. And, don't for one second believe Pena and Coleman were the only ones up to hi-jinxs

Where does it say anything about a syringe or how the treatment was administered?

DELAWARE-The Little Brown Jug is one of America’s great sporting events because it is stuck in time. The race is run at the end of the Delaware County Fair, on a little dirt track that has been compared to Augusta, if Augusta accepted harvest revelers as members who could bring in their own coolers.
There is enough smoking, drinking and gambling to make Nucky Thompson avoid the backstretch. But cheating? At the fairgrounds? The accusations flew Thursday at the 71st running of the most prized leg of harness racing’s Triple Crown when a group of accused and/or convicted cheaters cried foul.
The story is a juicy one. It has drunken grooms, stolen cellphones, intercepted text messages, large syringes, accusations of doping and yogurt. Cheap vanilla yogurt, if you need to know.
Casie Coleman, in the middle of the controversy, has the receipts for the yogurt. She trains Betting Line, who destroyed the field in the final. With that, Coleman won her third Jug. The driver, Columbus native and Hall of Famer David Miller, won his fourth Jug.
In the winner’s circle, track announcer Roger Huston asked Miller, “Was that as easy as it looked?”
Miller, a subdued and plain-spoken man, paused. Then he said, “Yeah. It was pretty easy.”
It will be 8 to 10 days before we know whether Betting Line failed his drug test, and, if he did, whether Coleman is to be subjected to any punishment.
“I hope she gets caught,” said Ron Burke, the trainer of fourth-place finisher Manhattan Beach, told Hoof Beats magazine.
Burke was one of at least three trainers who lodged protests over the semifinal heats and the final. Jimmy Takter, whose horse Western Fame finished second, and Tony Alagna, who scratched the second favorite, Racing Hill, before the final, were two others.
Here is the story, as best as it can be pieced together:
One of Coleman’s grooms got drunk Wednesday night and slept in a horse trailer. At some point, his cellphone was lost or stolen. Someone in the area behind the Jug Barns used the phone to read the groom’s text messages.
According to Coleman, the texts included leading phrases about bringing “stuff” (not her word) and giving the “stuff” (not her word) to Betting Line at a certain time in the morning, when the horse was alone.
Coleman was incensed. She said the “stuff” (not her word) was vanilla yogurt and she administers it, using a syringe, directly into Betting Line's mouth. She always does it a designated time, to settle the horse’s stomach for the day — in order to combat loose “stuff” (not her word). She doesn’t like spectators to see because they might get the wrong idea about a syringe. That’s Coleman’s story.
She was indignant about the accusations of cheating. She said the other trainers didn’t have the “manhood” (not her word) to approach her directly rather than going straight to the judges. She insists everything is on the up-and-up and offered to pay for any tests anyone can think of.
She suspects that if Betting Line was not the prohibitive favorite, there would have been no Yogurtgate. To me, the problem might be the drunken groom sleeping in the horse trailer, but maybe I’m wrong.
Keep in mind: Coleman has been caught before.
Also keep in mind: Burke, Alagna and Takter — the final one among the cleanest trainers in the game — have also been caught before. What is this, college basketball?
I love the Jug, so I hope Coleman is innocent. In any case, Betting Line’s owners and handlers will keep the Jug because, well, they walked away with the trophy. Possession is ninth-tenths, and all that

Syringe in the D barn, not by a vet, should of been an automatic scratch!! Who is doing security there, oh wait, there wasn't any...TOTAL JOKE!

Does that include a lie detector?

slaphead Seriously, who gives a shit? It's not like you can spoon feed a horse yogurt. And someone please find me a trainer (any trainer) who has not shot something into a horse's mouth or into their veins or muscle on race day.
This is beyond hilarious. Someone steals her phone, goes through her text messages (noseily goes through her text messages) without a court order, and reads whatever they want into her texts. No court in this country would ever find her guilty of anything.
At least she did not kill Jim Wondergem.

I know who Wondergem was. How many others do?

How do you know idunno The only one that would know is the one who did it dorkusinterruptus
Maybe you were out to the farm after the "claims he's king" bought it and heard the ghost ??

These are the same haters in this thread that were bashing poor, honest and hard working Sammy Sosa , claiming he used steroids, just jealous haters nononono

Gary at least get your facts straight slaphead first off nobody stole her phone , 2nd it was her gooms phone and he got drunk and lost it ..... and 3rd she clearly admitted that her groom gave the horse yogurt on race day with a tube ...... I don't care if it did or didn't help the horses performance on Jug day she clearly broke the rules and she straight up admitted it .

I read in a news article that her phone was stolen. At any rate, what business does anyone have going through a phone that does not belong to them?
Nonetheless, I have not seen nor do I believe she admitted tubing the horse. I read she admitted the horse got yogurt on race day.

I'm sure the claiming king knows Coleman did not kill Wondergem. I think Casie Coleman was not even born when he got clipped....i mean, committed suicide.

Let me explain something to you. A tube goes directly into the stomach. Spraying something into a horse's mouth is certainly not tubing, and yogurt is not medication, so no medication rule was violated. Plus the fact remains, someone stole the phone, or at least came into possession of a stolen phone. Someone also had nose problems, looking into a phone that does not belong to them. Whoever took the phone and whoever looked at the phone are the guilty ones.

The groom was drunk and lost his phone !! whoever found it tried opening it to see whos phone it belonged to but it was locked !!! the only messages that were seen were the ones that popped up on his home screen .
What part don't you understand about her using a syringe/yogurt in the Jug barn on Jug day ? I don't care if it helped the horse or not its still not allowed and she admitted it .
''In accordance with Ohio State Racing Commission Rule 3769-18-01: Other than Furosemide as permitted in Rules or except in the case of an emergency, no foreign substance may be administered to a horse on race day before the conclusion of the race that the horse has been entered in or until the horse has been released by the state veterinarian from the state testing barn or released from the Jug Barn by the Jug Barn Steward''

Yogurt is a Foreign substance
Is yogurt a Foreign substance or a feed supplement?
Yogurt is a milk product just like Calf Manna that has been feed to horses for 80 years.

I'm being told that it is .......
-
˙ow can something 'all natural' be a foreign substance? I would think hay and oats also would fall into that same category.

Horses who eat Yogurt in Slovakia live to a hundred years old. Or is that people?
