REFUSAL TO SUBMIT TO URINE TEST
Jonathan L Oney is summarily suspended for refusing to submit to a urine test on August 16, 2016 at Harrington Raceway. Mr. Oney has a judge`s hearing on Monday August 22, 2016 at 4 pm.
DHRC rule: 10.2.3; 10.2.3.1. Status as of 8/22/2016 - Amendment - After a Judge's hearing Mr. Jonathan L Oney is issued a 30 day "FULL" suspension of his Delaware Harness Racing Commission "Grooms" license for refusing a human drug test. Suspension begins August 16, 2016 to and including September 15, 2016. Mr. Oney must pay for the test he refused ($69.32) and any future test that he takes until notified otherwise. DHRC rule: 10.2.3.2; 5.1.8.2.7. 5.1.8.2.5.
Is this some bullshit or what? The guy has to pay for a test he refused to take, plus got a 30 day suspension? I can understand him having to pay for a test in the future, but why pay for a test he refused to take? It certainly did not cost the racing commission a dime since the test was not used. The poor guy is probably already going to be out $2000 for missing working for 30 days. Screw it, I'd never pay for that test or any other test. I'd go get a job in a different field.
Hey Delaware, birdienana birdienana birdienana

Many employers would just fire you for refusing to take a drug test. 30 days is less than forever. What about MGM? I would imagine you would be adios for refusing a drug test.

thumbsup thumbsup . The only reason he refused is because he was dirty, in my line of work you had to sign a release stating that if you refused you were automatically gone, NO EXCEPTIONS !
If he can't handle the requirements of his job, he should practice asking "would you like fries with that" I heard those places don't test nononono

how can anyone think this is bullshit? Only reason to say no is you are f**king stoned and going to fail. And for anyone ( Yes you Gary) to think it is bullshit is asinine. Like others have said, any real job in the real world and he is fired immediately and probably can't get the job asking if you would like fries with your happy meal

In the " real world " at a "real job " a postive test does not always result in immediate termination.
I supervised union and non union workers and the company offered treatment for 1st time offenders.Better to try and save good workers instead of destroying them for life

I heard of that union, local Oo ?? I was in the union (IBT) my whole life and no such thing EVER existed !
The only thing close to that was IF you went to your company and asked for help, they would help you out,
with treatment and time off, BUT, if you were called for a piss test and then failed or asked for help at that
time, see ya !!! The union wouldn't even back you up nononono
Just what I want is to be a tradesman and have some dope head or drunk working near me slaphead
If you want to be a high paid "blue collar" worker and can't handle the drug policies then that's your problem,
go make your $9.00 an hour, plenty of skilled people still out of work that would be happy to follow the rules.

Hell, what i want to know is why don't cops, judges, public officals, etc. have to take drug tests?

Depends on the state and the jurisdiction but many do just that. In our little, backwater burg the local cops are subject to random testing twice a month. Also applies to jail employees.
