I was shocked to see a horse bet down to 1-20 to win. First time I've ever seen it. I'm sure it happens, but I can't see why people are chasing nickels on a win bet when a show wager is available.
Wakizashi Hanover gets up at Pocono on Saturday to win at $0.05 odds.
Waitlifter K gets caught at the wire tonight at Balmoral to lose at $0.05 odds.

It's that type of insanity that allows the savvy bettor the chance to make a few bucks. You see it all the time. Green two year old trotters sent off as heavy favorites. Yes they do win, but not enough to justify those odds. At Balmoral I have maintained that if you bet the longest shot on the board against a heavy favorite two yr old or cheap trotting race you would make more money in the long run than betting the favorite.
