I would use a blow torch to burn off the filth. If that fails, soak the grills in bleach for a week. Rinse before using.

I always use a wire brush followed by a wet cloth. Never swallowed any wire yet either.

I saw this article yesterday. I too always use a wire brush and have never had a problem. I 'm going with the other guy was trying to off his wife and failed miserably. Unless you're cooking at night,or you are vision impaired,I think you would see the wire when you placed the meat on the grill. Just sayin'

We never, ever buy anything other than Perdue chicken. Worth every extra cent.
Oh, and before cooking that Perdue chicken I clean my Weber grill with a wire brush 8)
If Skipper were an attorney he wouldn't make any money. He's got such a big heart he probably would only do free (pro bono?) work. thumbsup

Gas grill here. I always turn it on , close the top, let is get as hot as it can, then spray it and use the wire brush to clean it. Never have a problem.
