Title: Big M Sat. 1/31
Post by: maywoodmaniac on January 30, 2015, 04:53:44 PM
Took a glance at the races and got the impression that with all the C-Notes races and the ABC classification system being dumped after this card, there could be some bombs hitting the board.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Tough card IMO. Going to handicap as we go.

I only used 9/2, 8/1 and 10/1 ml on my ticket in the fourth. I leave 5/2 off the ticket completely.
The 9/2 opens up 4/5 and the 5/2 opens 9/1.
Am I sharp or is this going to turn out to be a real bad morning line?

Do I get post time favorite in the pk5? Please don't make me email DZ for the answer.  hammerhead1

Voice of Truth running in on Dial or No Dial mid-stretch really hurt.  Killed the p4 value via dead heat instead of winning outright.  Disappointed that all winning combos of the p4 pay the same.  4pezz2

Race 1  #6 w/1-3
Race 2  #9 w/2-4
Race 3  #8 w/7-1  Bomber: #3
Race 4  #5 w/1-10
Race 5  #3 w/7-1

Race 7  #7 w/6-10 Bomber #5  thumbsup

Race 9  #2 w/3-7
Race 10 #6 w/3-9  Bomber #1
Race 11 #7 w/1-6
Race 12 #1 w/4-6  Bomber #3  thumbsup
Race 13 #2 w/7-5  Bomber #6  thumbsup

Nice calls on the bombers.  3 of 5 hit the board.   thumbsup

Thanks CC.

Would have been a ridiculously huge night if Bullet Bob had won. I remembered what you had said about Voice of Truth a couple of weeks ago and decided late to use him underneath.

Hope you cashed some nice ones, MM!

I was really surprised with the ML and board odds on Voice of Truth. If you compare his lines to others last week, he ran quite well. He just ran into a buzzsaw in his race. Callahan had to check him slightly to straighten him out, which cost him the race last night.

I loved your McAttaboy pick in R12. I didn't cap it until 1 MTP and I orginally like the 8 at a price until I realized that Pierce chose McAttaboy over the 8. Too bad he couldn't get up. Would've had a $10 double and $20 win.

Simons in R13 really helped the hi5 payout. Almost thought he was going by Yannick into the final turn.

I was talking to ChicagoJazz the other day about supers and hi5 strategy. Those "autotosses" are toss outs to finish 1-2, but they can certainly finish 3-4-5 because they are usually raced conservatively. They end up passing some of the aggressively handled favs that get tired. Wish I would've used Callahan in Friday's finale at 145-1. Inside trip, slow track, finished 3rd, fueled a big hi5 payout.
