I want to agree with that whole-heartedly, since I've raced against crooked chemists before that robbed food off my table. But no trainer can be with every horse 24/7/365 and it is incredibly easy to set someone up by slipping a forbidden substance to a horse with a little 'treat'. It would be a damn shame to end an honest trainer's career over something like that... and you're still stuck with the crook that perpetrated it.
I don't have the perfect answer, but I would love to have the crooks out of racing so the honest people could thrive.

What determines a crook ? One positive, two...three.... etc, ???
Previous suspensions ?
What ?
Is a past track record relevant and germane to those decisions ?
What ????

Well... I said I didn't have the answer.
It's a lot easier for me to train & race 1 or 2 horses out of an off-track facility, with only my Bride and I taking care of them, to make sure there aren't any problems.(I've never had a positive in my career) But Erv Miller has 200 head scattered from Canada to Florida. There are a million things that can go wrong, and the new testing labs can pick up parts per billion of stuff that couldn't possibly affect a horses performance.(like if someone taking blood pressure med pees in the stall)
I'm all for burning the cheaters, I just don't want an honest trainer to be unjustly banned because of an arbitrary rule that doesn't consider all the factors.

The list is long and I am sure Gural will have his hands full going through it with his magnifying glass.
Joseph S. Anderson: 2 year suspension and $5,000 fine
