Title: Changes for Keeneland
Post by: caveman on October 03, 2014, 10:27:29 AM
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Keeneland will debut many new features for the October meet.

Officials say one of the main changes for the 2014-2015 season will be the new dirt track that replaced the synthetic polytrack that's been used since 2006.

it is a great move back to dirt.the major stakes now are back to being good preps for the breeders cup and ky derby.
watched and played keeneland and the red mile yesterday.the new dirt track seemed to play fair and handled the rain very well.the golden rail bias from yrs gone by was not in play.

imo keeneland is a bucket list item for any racing fan srping or fall.my very 1st trip was back when play fellow won the blue grass followed by a night at louisville downs

I've made a point of going to Keeneland at least once a week during both the Spring and Fall meets since we moved to Central Kentucky in 2001. Been offered access to seats in both the clubhouse and the grandstand. Refused them all. To take in and appreciate Keeneland buy a general admission ticket and move........from the aprons to the many terraces to the paddock. Explore it all if you're a newbie.
It fantastic place.....much more than just "a racetrack".
