Saw our great leader today at the fair doing his favorite thing, dragging the track.
Gary it was nice to see you and have a small chat

Will see you tomorrow!

Will not get there today, but to add you had the track in great shape for a fair track. The mile in 56 will attest to that.

Uhhhh.........I don't know the full story yet, but I think our Fearless leader is going to have a story to tell about this afternoon.

Matter of fact I do have a story-a very sad story. A 79 year old driver drove into my tractor during the first race post parade. We do not know if he was awake or not when it happened, as I was stopped and sitting still for at least 75 feet before he ran I to the tractor's front tire.
It happened in front of the entire crowd, and both Clair Umholtz and I yelled at him before he hit the tractor. Somehow he had leaned over and looked at me sitting there but not sure whether or not his eyes were open or if he simply looked at me a missed the tractor sitting there stopped 75 feet away from him. At any rate, he or the horse yanked to the right and his sulky wheel caught the left front tire of my tractor. He was tossed from the sulky and dragged because his foot got stuck in the lines.
Long story short the driver apparently broke several ribs and possibly suffered a collapsed lung. Despite everyone in the race plus the judges and announcer saying I was not at fault in any way, and that I did everything to avoid him running into me, I feel horrible about the fact that it happened. I only hope the poor guy heals fast and that he did not suffer a heart issue or stroke before it happened, as many people think happened.
