Title: Looking for auction company
Post by: Oldegreymare on August 28, 2014, 11:00:51 AM
There used to be an auction company who sold Standardbred related rare books, Limited edition and original artworks etc. at one of the Lexington Sales.  Can't remember who ran that auction.  I thought it was Tattersal but I am not sure.

Does anyone know who that was or who to contact regarding a very large consignment of these items.

Much thanks for any help

The Art auction was run by Stan Bergstein and HTA.
Benefits went to scholarships for horseman's kids.

Here's a couple of ideas.....Dot Morgan always has an auction at The Jug to benefit her New Vocations, of course that is donated items. The person who does that auction might be a step in finding the right company to set up maybe an online auction. What about making arrangements with The Jug and or The Red Mile to set up a booth like Bow River does? ... or the at the yearling sales in Lexington and Harrisburg. The places where the people with money make impulse purchases.  ;)

Thanks to the three of you who replied.  That was exactly what I was looking for.  I am just wanting all these items to go to people who appreciate the Standardbred horse that I have loved for the last 40 years.  I so miss the county fairs and the PM tracks and all the friends (and enemies ;) ) but most of all --the horses.  It was the best time of my life.

The Round Barn at Lexington holds an annual action of donated items, where the proceeds go to benefit the restoration of the Round Barn.

The building requires some major structural repairs.
