The reward is and always has been in the value of betting against them. Same with Palone at Mea5/8 and others.

It just seems that every track has always got one guy who dominates for a considerable length of time.

Zendt followed by Palone- Meadows
Campbell and ODonnell, followed by Sears-Big M
Lew Williams and then Don Irvine Jr.-Northfield
Gene Riegle and then David Miller-Scioto
Rick Plano at California
Shelly Goudreau/Gerry Bookmyer-Detroit and Windsor
Walter Case where ever he drove followed by everyone else.
Jiommy Morrill Jr.- Upstate New York.
Bruce Ranger-Pompano

These all present opportunities for overlays, but I would rather bet the favorite much of the time if these guys were driving it!
