Good read in today's Chicago Tribune about how underfunded the system is.It also has some good stories on the abuses with the system allowed by the lawmakers.
The one constant thru all of IL problems ? Mike Madigan and his gang have been in charge for close to 30 yrs.
Good Luck to all those trying to raise their families in IL, it is going to get a heck of alot more expensive to do so.

What ticks me off is that many try and make the people reiciving the pensions the bad guys. I had to pay 10% of my income into the poension fund for 35 years. My employer did the same. The state was to put in a like amount. Guess who didn't live up to their obligation!! They wasted the money on nonsense and political boodndogles. It's much like Social Security. There is no trust fund. They just spend the money on whatever and hope current collections will cover what they have to pay out. Let somebody else worry about it down the road. And, the people elect the same a-holes decade after decase.

I have a no problem with people who put in all the years working and contributing.It is the stinking pols in this country who have ruined it for all of us..
Allowing people to collect more in monthly pension checks than they ever earned while working is simply fukin nuts.

I guarntee that the friggin legislative pension will be paid and funded... YOu can take that one to the bank. idunno idunno idunno
