Title: Bad Accident at Flamboro
Post by: Headpole Dave on March 27, 2014, 08:06:46 PM
Happened in the 12th race. Horse got loose and bolted down the opposite way of the track. He ended up colliding head first with another horse at the far turn. Looked absolutely horrible. Both horses were killed, drivers seem to be banged up but okay.

Ive said for years that races need to be stopped when there is an accident.

Especially when you have to race around a fallen horse or person or if there is a horse loose running in the opposite direction.
Immediately stop it.

Thoughts and prayers to all involved.

Horrible thing to see.

I agree.   Flashing red lights should alert drivers to pull up safely and return to the paddock immediately if possible.   Race should stop, just like they throw the red flag in motorsports to require all drivers to stop.   This was indeed a horrible situation.....very bad.

Stop the damn race, diver and horse safety should come first.  They don't want to refund the wagers, the hell with human and horse life.
