Tomorrow night at Rosecroft the 9th race is a memorial to this old war horse.
Very nice to remember an old war horse who gave his all on the track every time.
People should remember the horses that leave it all on the track.

Yes he was an old warhorse. I actually was with Jamie on two of the last times he ever raced. He won at the Dover, Ohio fair in September, and I was with her when he raced at The Meadows on October 5th.
Really a cool horse. Although I jogged all of her good horses and even trained some as well, Jamie would not even let me jog him because she was afraid he was more than I could handle. ::)
Very nice of Megan Fortna, Teddy Minute, and Jamie Coffy to have a memorial for the old boy! heartluv

Giving my thoughts on each entry.
1. bona fide man - Comes from 15,000 at Chester. Wayne is better on a trotter than a pacer. Usable
2. elvis blue chip - I bet Milby almost every race. Ill not use him here. Except for third
3. stargazerlilly - chance, dont really like the overall connections although Braden is OK on a trot. Third or second possible if the 6 is not steered straight.
4. Ten yard penalty- Craig Fletcher. If he wins Id not be suprised. Ifs last id not be suprised. I will use him first second and third.
5. Meadowcroft man- probable favorite, probably the best despite the 6 month layoff. Wagner usually has them ready to go when they race.
6. Mandinga- You have the best horse. Can he sit last and tip at 3/4 and win? Maybe.
I will play 45 with the 3456 with all

Not trying to be a dick but your having a memorial race for a 5k-10k-15k claimer that took a lifetime mark of 56.4 at Colonial Downs ?

very good point but if they can remember the reason why we have the sport no matter what they were and someone apprieciates it atleast something was accomplished! It was a horse that made an impact on peoples lives from the sounds of it and deserved to be rememebered. I think having memorial races for horses is a good idea if people choose to do it. You have to remember where would we be with HORSE RACING without the HORSES!!!!!

Very good point. To me it is an individual decision much like funerals for human beings. Some folks like them, others do not. Death is a difficult thing and grieving is an individual process.

I dont see why a horse who earns a million is more deserving than one who earns 100 000 but does it at lower levels and less talent.
Gary had made a post about this and is friends with the woman who last owned the horse. And the assistant race secretary here had owned him and he impacted her.
And he is one of the ones I always remembered.
It was nice and it meant alot to Jamie.
Glad I could play a small role.
If it was up to me Id like to honor hundreds of horses. They are the sport. Its horse racing.
