Title: Barn To Wire Hacked
Post by: Dolfan on December 04, 2013, 02:32:03 PM
Apparently BTW was hacked today.  My Norton anti-virus did pick it up but I wouldn't want any of you to get infected in case your anti-virus doesn't see it.

Happy Holidays to all.

Don't use Norton, however my FireFox browser detected the bad link as well.

The site itself wasn't hacked, rather there was a link to a malware in one of the advertisements.

I contacted Janine and she's attempting to correct the issue with Google.
Janine has converted all the adds to display in text only in an attempt to disable the link.

In any event, it will take some time to for the search engines and malware detectors to give the site a green light.

My Firefox detected the same thing. I will wait to see if things are cleared up before I go to that f***ing site again.

Gary,
My primary browser is FireFox 25.
FF advised me of the same thing Dolfan reported.

I opened IE 6, which is a very old version of Internet Explorer and more vulnerable than recent versions.

Then visited BTW.

IE advised me that I'd contracted three viruses and advised me to click on a link to MS Virus Software which I do NOT have installed.
 Thus the problem is Malware.

Additionally I've a firewall software installed that isolates downloaded data without infecting the system (a newer and similar software is called "Sandbox").

To be safe, I ran an AV check (updating my AV software prior to checking:
NO VIruses reprted.
I ran the current update to Windows Malicious Software and also nothing was reported.

Unfortunately, Janine is going to be required to spend time fixing this and all the while waiting for robots, softwares and every other PITA to acknowledge the site is OK.

Who cares about BTW?

Luke Puke, the two idiots and an idiot moderator.

It's horsescum 2.0 with a couple of good guys like Burton, and a few others that also post here.

There is a site other than this one? Unneeded redundancy.

Working fine from an iPad.  Decent amount of posts there. Probably the first time I attempted to go there in at least a year.

I quit looking and posting after Juice Jizzler and Pig took the place over but after

seeing this thread tried 5 different browsers and they all had some type of

warning, IE was the worst it had a pop up saying MSE needed to run a scan, I

killed that by shutting down IE from the processes. I have nothing against her

but the posters and crap she allows aren't worth looking at or posting there.

There is very little information there as far I can see. Many of the better posters left and its a waste of time now as I see it. She really should close up shop

There are a lot of things that I do that others would consider a waste of time.  Doesn't mean I shouldn't do them.

I took a long break from these harness forums.   Nothing but broken down gamblers who lose 2 dollars and complain.   It is old, if you stink at betting and handicapping then stop gambling!   If you insist on continuing gambling show some class when you get beat.

There is so many great topics but for every great one there is 10 that are completely worthless. shootme

Unfortunately my computer was hacked through that site. There seems to be some deal between the people who run the site and some unsavory types. Id advise all to stay clear.

The virus is very bad.
