Legislative Update
As the clock ticks down, some progress is being made today in Springfield. But, there is one big hurdle to overcome. As a reminder, the two problems we face as an industry are: 1) getting all entities to agree on a bill and 2) finding money for the Illinois Racing Board to fund their budget shortfall.
A proposal will be introduced that almost solves both of those problems; the IRB will be wholly funded for the next two years and the proposal is agreed to by every single entity except TwinSpires/CDI. Hopefully, an out of state owned entity (CDI) will come to their senses and allow thousands of Illinois jobs to stay in Illinois.

It is insane! The state stands to lose millions as they refuse to fund the Illinois Racing Board. ADW taxes provide for the funding and they haven't renewed the ADW law yet. Last year we went several months without ADW in Illinois. This created a shortfall in the racing board's budget. While this is going on, we read in the Chicago Tribune how Chicago has wasted billions in capital l improvement bond funds on sink hole wasteful projects. I'm pretty sick of all politicians, Democrats and Republicans both. We remember Ronald Reagan's words, government is not the solution to the problem, it IS the problem. Yet on all governmental levels we allow more and more control of our lives by the most inefficient entities anyone could imagine. Stop the insanity before we are all slaves in labor camps.

I don't care to type all the financial nightmares that IL is facing. But Hey! Gov. Quinnochio has promised to sign a same-sex marriage act.
