So I bought one of those Halloween Millionaire Raffle tickets from the Illinois Lottery, the ones that cost $20 and they give you a raffle number. This isn't the first time that I played one of those raffles, but I've never really come close to winning anything. When I look at where the winning tickets were sold, it's rare that I would recognize a store that sold the winner, but occasionally, I could say that I shopped there once.
My wife checked our ticket tonight to see that, once again, we were not winners. She noticed that the 7-Eleven in our neighborhood (Deerfield) actually sold one of the million dollar winners, and she couldn't help but think about what could've been.
When I took a closer look, I realized that this 7-Eleven was the store that I actually bought my ticket from. Again, my wife couldn't help but think about what could've been.
My curiosity then got the best of me. I decided to take an even closer look and then it hit me. The lady in front of me near the time I bought my ticket won the million bucks. I knew this because they issue these raffle tickets in sequence throughout the state and her number was so damn close to mine, but her number preceded mine. She bought the ticket at the same self-serve lottery vending machine that I bought mine...and I do recall her walking away with a raffle ticket, not one of those scratch and lose tickets.
Close, but no cigar. Now my wife is sad. And I'm like "WTF!"

She was in her 60's. Probably would have a heart attack before she could sign the back of that ticket.

Damn Cyber that sucks!!.......the same thing happens to me all the time at the track, they sell winning tickets right before I get some!! 4pezz2
