Title: Leyland Retires.

Only actually met Jim one time.  Was staying in San Diego at the same hotel as the Tigers.  Got up early and went outside to exercise.  (Have a smoke) Jim was out there exercising also.  He had his golf clubs and was waiting for a ride to the course.  Wish the Sox had held on to him.

He loves betting the horses , he would always be at the Meadows in the offseason.

When the Meadows grandstand was being torn down they moved all the wagering to the Adios room and I think there must have only been  4 or 5 of us in the whole place sitting at a table, he came walking over like he knew us his whole life and ask if we minded if he sat with us.

It was awesome at first but after his 20th cigarette I was dying  :P
