Title: Family day today
Post by: LVGaryD on September 14, 2013, 02:27:58 PM
Started the day off alone in a cemetery, looking for my aunt's burial site. Finally found it and shortly thereafter, the entire family arrived. My uncle and his family decided against a traditional open-casket viewing, funeral, etc. Went the cremation route, along with about a 30 minute graveside service, and that was it. My beautiful sister-in-law remarked that there were more family members at funerals in our family than at reunions. A sad, but brilliant observation on her part.

Anyway, then it was off to an Amish-style restaurant, which the Baker clan (my mother's side of the family) promptly took over. We ate and visited for a couple of hours, then off to my mother's house to argue politics, death, dying, etc.  :o

Now two of my precious nephews will be spending the night with us, so in the next few minutes, my mother's computer will be taken over by rugrats. So much for old Gary D. making any money on driving god Miller tonight.
