Oak Brook
Ditka's
Gibsons
Wildfire
Lombard
The Capital Grille
Harry Caray's
Never had a bad meal in any of them.
In Indiana there is Jack and Peggy Hood's Kelsey's Steak house in Valparaiso and Portage. Haven't eaten there though.
Today is my 38th anniversary and I am taking the Mrs. to Ruth's Chris downtown. Haven't been there in 4 years, but it has always has been my fav, and I've been to most of the big name places in Chicago. Yes, even the newer trendy ones

Used to fine dine a lot when in Illinios but now our Land of Lincoln stops generally are Pizza and Portillos.....in any case, Careless Hall mentioned Capital Grille in Lombard - that one I am familar with and its very nice and good....a bit pricey but there's a 'feel good' about getting what you pay for.....
Here's a question for you, Niatross - you mentioned 20-30 minutes from Lansing - whatever became of some of the nice Steak Houses in the south suburbs? I know some of the favorites are gone but are there any left?
Over the years I used to really enjoy Tivoli (its gone), Gino's Steak House, Savoia's, Mr. Benny's, places like that.......
...and Hal, you do get around...I can relate to that! Ruth's Chris will be great I'm sure, always is! Happy Anniversary!
