Victory is coming set the track record for trotting mares with a first over trip in 154.3 from the 6 hole... Just 1/5 off of Dunksters track record for any trotter.

Beans and weenies 5th in 151.4... That is unheard of to go that fast for fifth. The track is ready for a record Saturday.

He was driving a bunch of rats tonight... I just bet him in a few trifectas, hoping he'd get in there.

What was up with the track that night ?

I usually don't gauge the speed of the track by the winning times but by other finisher times. ( Sometimes a winner may have had some real good oats for dinner )

They must have been working hard on the track that Sunday because the Saturday times didn't seem any quicker than usual... but that might have to do with the fact that Jason Thompson is a top driver that night.

This is my 50th year in harness. Back when I first started going, you would have to go on a Saturday for a chance to see the 2 minute mark broken.  When I saw horses like Adios Vic , Bret Hanover and Cardigan Bay go in 57 and change  I was amazed!  Track surfaces were not as hard back then. Sulkys were not as fast and the horses were not as fast. 151 something for cheapo horses! Priceless!

We do get the fast miles from cheapo horses... But Monday is now northfield's top night.

Me too!  thumbsup

I can promise everyone that the Wayne county fair track is at least a mile. I personally think it's a tad longer when measured three feet out from the pylons.

The last certification I have of Northfield Park's half mile status was about 10 years ago.
