Myron Bell, racing manager for Brittany Farms and spokesman for the Captaintreacherous Stable, told harnessracing.com Monday afternoon that Captaintreacherous, winner of last Saturday's $1 million Pepsi North America Cup at Mohawk Racetrack, will be entered in the $500,000 Max Hempt Memorial at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, which has eliminations scheduled for Saturday night, June 22.
The entry box for the Hempt closes Tuesday morning, June 18, and Bell said that the ownership group and trainer Tony Alagna agreed to send Captaintreacherous, who won the NA Cup in 1:48.3, to Pocono for the Hempt, as well as the Alagna-trained Wake Up Peter, who finished third behind his stablemate in the rich race last Saturday. Bell added that both horses will be then entered in the Meadowlands Pace, which has elims scheduled for Saturday, July 6, with the final on July 13.
