Stars, stars and more stars. Seventeen qualifiers have been scheduled for Saturday morning at the Meadowlands and several of the sports biggest names will be on the racetrack, including the 2012 Pacer of the Year Captaintreacherous and divisional rivals Odds On Equuleus and Rockin Amadeus, who drew into separate contests.

Saturday marks the first appearance of the year for both Captaintreacherous and Odds On Equuleus. Last year, Captaintreacherous became the first 2-year-old pacer since Camtastic in 1987 to be voted Pacer of the Year as he won eight of 10 starts, including the $1 million Metro final in a career-best 1:49.2 and the $309,050 Woodrow Wilson.

Captaintreacherous will leave from post seven in the 14th race with Tim Tetrick driving for trainer Tony Alagna.Odds On Equuleus will on the track two races earlier as he drew post six in the 12th race with John Campbell driving for trainer Robin Schadt. Odds On Equuleus hasn't started since scoring a career-best 1:50 win in an International Stallion division early last October at The Red Mile.

Rockin Amadeus has already won a pair of qualifiers at the Big M this year in 1:54.1 and 1:53, respectively. Last year's Breeders Crown champ will start from post four for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Jimmy Takter in a field that also includes the Alagna-trained Wake Up Peter and the John Butenschoen-trained Johny Rock.

Also in action in the qualifiers is the 2012 Two-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year Somwherovrarainbow, who has already scored qualifying wins this year at Dover Downs (1:55 on April 3) and Harrah's Philadelphia (1:52 on April 9). The daughter of Somebeachsomewhere's seven wins last year included a Breeders Crown championship. Somwherovrarainbow is trained by George Teague Jr. and will be driven by Montrell Teague.

World-champion Dontyouforgetit will leave from post four in the fifth race. The 3-year-old son of Cantab Hall is scheduled to start in the May 4 Dexter Cup at Freehold Raceway, and is qualifying only because no elims were needed this weekend when only seven horses were entered. After Dontyouforget finished third in his first qualifying attempt this year, trainer Jimmy Takter added trotting hobbles for the second qualifier and the equipment change paid off with a nine-length romp in 2:00.4 at Freehold.

The 2012 Kentucky Futurity winner My MVP will leave from post one in the seventh race. The 4-year-old son of Cantab Hall finished fourth in his 2013 qualifying debut April 20 at the Big M. Mike Lachance drives for trainer Alagna.

Sweet Lou, whose biggest win last year came in the Tattersalls Pace at The Red Mile, finished fifth last time out in his 2013 qualifying opener, closing out his effort with a final quarter of :25.4. On Saturday, the Ron Burke trainee starts from post six with driver Yannick Gingras. The field includes divisional rival Mel Mara as well as the highly-regarded 5-year-old mare Drop The Ball.

I Luv The Nitelife, the 2012 O'Brien Award winner as Canada's 2-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year, will be making her second qualifying appearance on Saturday, hoping to follow up on a strong 1:55.3 winning effort on April 20. Tetrick drives for trainer Chris Ryder from post seven in the 11th race.

Golden Receiver, winner of the Presidential Series final earlier this year at the Meadowlands, will start from post six in the nightcap. The Mark Harder-trained, Tetrick-driven 8-year-old gelding pacer is getting a tune-up after a fourth-place finish in a winners-over race April 5 at Philadelphia. New York Sire Stakes champ Major Bombay and the 1:47.3-winning Hurrikane Kingcole drew into that race.

Post time for the 17 qualifiers is 10 a.m.

Was wondering if anybody watched the  qualifiers  today ? was curious how Captaintreacherous gait looked , I remember last year that he wasn't the smoothest thing going.

They are up on the website. Just not where you would normally look. Go to race replays archive, and then the qualifiers.
